The World Peace March in Betlehem

On october 13th the World March arrived to Betlehem. A Middle east branch of this peace initiative has been touring around the Occupied Territories for weeks, even holding a demonstration in front of the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem.

The first ever World March that travels the world asking for the end of wars, the dismantling of nuclear weapons and for an end to all forms of violence (physical, economic, racial, religious, cultural, sexual and psychological). The World March began in New Zealand on October 2, 2009, the anniversary of Gandhi’s birth, declared the “International Day of Nonviolence” by the United Nations. It will conclude in the Andes Mountains (Punta de Vacas, Aconcagua, Argentina) on January 2, 2010.
